Pacific Pathology Associates, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is pleased to include Rebekah E. Raines, M.D., to its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Raines has extensive professional experience, including an impressive academic background.

Dr. Raines graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Subsequently, she received her medical degree from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California.

Dr. Raines completed a four-year pathology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, Texas. During this time, she was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal. She then concluded her postgraduate training with a cytopathology fellowship before launching her professional career at Alaska VA Lab in Anchorage as a medical director and at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, where she served as chief of anatomic pathology. She also served as a medical director at AFB Lab in North Pole, Alaska.

Dr. Raines’ interdisciplinary and process improvement activities include presenting pathology surgical cases as a member of the JBER Hospital Tumor Board. She also oversees the pathology proficiency program, coordinating staff participation. Her academic and research efforts have been published as a case report for the American College of Radiology. She has given poster presentations at the College of American Pathologists meetings and has participated in DNA and PCR-focused projects in Thailand with the Armed Forces Research Institute in Medical Science.

Dr. Raines is a member of many professional medical organizations, including the College of American Pathologists. She holds full medical licensure and is board certified in cytopathology and anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
